It takes 14-days to process Pistol Purchase Permits from the day we receive it. All permits are being mailed at this time.
Because of the significant increase in the number of applicants for pistol purchase permits (PPPs) recently, those applying for a PPP may find it is taking longer to process your application.

Welcome! This is an official application for a permit to purchase a pistol or handgun. You must completely and accurately fill-out this application to be considered for a permit. The address you enter shall be your domicile (your legal home, where you lay your head at night).
This address must match your North Carolina's driver's license/ID EXACTLY.

Ensure you use the exact way your address is listed on your drivers license or state identification. This is also the address your permit will be mailed to. Any falsification of the information within this application will result in the denial of this application for a purchase permit.
***IMPORTANT: Include a copy of your drivers license when you submit your mental release! If you were not born in the United States we will need a copy of your permanent residence card (both sides) or citizenship documents.
A NON-REFUNDABLE processing fee of $5.00 per permit is required. In addition, a convenience fee of $3.00 per application is required to process payment. The convenience fee will be charged even if your application is denied. We DO NOT reprint, edit, modify or duplicate any pistol permit. If an error is made with address or name you will have to re-apply.
